You probablly should have put this in jam seshon...that's just me though. Anyway, I usually put on a song that's really special to me, and has just become special to my bf as well...not telling what that one is. Apart from that, I listen to Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Norah Jones, James Morrison, [not the old guy], and a few Australian ones wich are; David Campbell, George, and Pete Murrary.

Yeah kc8pnl I noticed that on the coachella thread.

Other top-notch chillout/unwind material:

Four Tet, The Books, Circulatory System, Grizzly Bear, Beach House, Brightblack Morning Light, Boards of Canada, Tortoise, Godspeed you! Black Emperor (although they build their music to intense, not-so-chill piques), Bjork, Massive Attack, the list can go on forever. :)

Here's one that can be relaxing yet brutal and visceral at the same time so it's not exactly for the faint of heart:

sunn 0))). This is pretty much what happens when you cross ambient music with the heaviest metal you can imagine. It's very minimal (droning guitar tones with small bits of other stuff like synth effects and a tiny bit of rhythm swirling around them) but packs a huge punch. It's like an all-out assault on the senses resulting in a trance-like effect. Their live recordings are much better than their albums IMO.

Post 15 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Wednesday, 21-Feb-2007 13:27:46

I chill out or even go to sleep to classical music, but I also chill out with either classical music or Easy Listening music. I've just ordered two Aled Jones albums on Amazon.

Well, 95% of the time, I'm listening to rebetika from the 30's through the 50's, probably 2% I'm listening to laika from the 50's or 60's and 3% English stuff from the 50's through the 70's. I think it depends on my mood. I like different singers for different things.

Post 24 by Glenja (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Saturday, 01-Dec-2007 17:57:10

When I read these posts, I realize one thing...boy, I'm getting old. I didn't recognize half the artists here that were listed. Personally, I like easy-listening music from the 70s to wind down to. The Eagles, Poco, England Dand and John Ford Coley, etc. I know I'm old, but thanks for letting me put my two cents worth in. lol

Post 25 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Saturday, 01-Dec-2007 19:15:10

That's awesome.

I've seen Jason Simon do acoustic sets a couple times; seems like a chill, humble, down-to-earth guy.
