have fun all.
You probablly should have put this in jam seshon...that's just me though. Anyway, I usually put on a song that's really special to me, and has just become special to my bf as well...not telling what that one is. Apart from that, I listen to Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Norah Jones, James Morrison, [not the old guy], and a few Australian ones wich are; David Campbell, George, and Pete Murrary.
Thievery Corporation, Trentemoller, Charalambides, Early Aphex Twin (his minimal techno/ambient stuff), My Bloody Valentine - Loveless, ETC.
Trivium. Pull harder on the strings
Sopor Aeternus. Holy Water Moonlight
Lordi.The Devil is a Loser
Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture.
Trentmoller, Pete Namlook, Clouse Schulze, Kraftwerk's laid back stuff, and all other sorts of ambient music. Looks like Disco42 and I have verry similar music tastes...
Allan Holdsworth, Al Di Meola, Pat Metheny, and Carva Carva.
I like Classical music like Handle, bach, Mozart. Michelle
I'm usually a happy person! I like Tejano music! Selena of course! But I also like Bob Marley, Rita Marley, Shakira, Olivia Newton John and Kylie monogue!
cool. varry interesting responses.
Yeah kc8pnl I noticed that on the coachella thread.
Other top-notch chillout/unwind material:
Four Tet, The Books, Circulatory System, Grizzly Bear, Beach House, Brightblack Morning Light, Boards of Canada, Tortoise, Godspeed you! Black Emperor (although they build their music to intense, not-so-chill piques), Bjork, Massive Attack, the list can go on forever. :)
Yeah I like this topic! I get to read about other peoples taste in music.
Okay, one more. The John Butler Trieo.
Sopor Aeternus Trans Des Grauzamkiet
Here's one that can be relaxing yet brutal and visceral at the same time so it's not exactly for the faint of heart:
sunn 0))). This is pretty much what happens when you cross ambient music with the heaviest metal you can imagine. It's very minimal (droning guitar tones with small bits of other stuff like synth effects and a tiny bit of rhythm swirling around them) but packs a huge punch. It's like an all-out assault on the senses resulting in a trance-like effect. Their live recordings are much better than their albums IMO.
I chill out or even go to sleep to classical music, but I also chill out with either classical music or Easy Listening music. I've just ordered two Aled Jones albums on Amazon.
Josh Groban, Enya, Celtic Women-- pretty much anything that 's easy listening material, only if I'm really tired, will I fall asleep with music on

Well, 95% of the time, I'm listening to rebetika from the 30's through the 50's, probably 2% I'm listening to laika from the 50's or 60's and 3% English stuff from the 50's through the 70's. I think it depends on my mood. I like different singers for different things.
When I read these posts, I realize one thing...boy, I'm getting old. I didn't recognize half the artists here that were listed. Personally, I like easy-listening music from the 70s to wind down to. The Eagles, Poco, England Dand and John Ford Coley, etc. I know I'm old, but thanks for letting me put my two cents worth in. lol
Jim brickman? Someone please put up an entire listing of his CD's. i love his music, but don't have any.
I love chill-out music, such as DJ Shadow, Sigur Ros, Red House Painters, Via Satellite, American Music Club/Mark Eitzel, etc. A radio station here in SD hosts a show at night that plays such artists.
Hmm... Avril Levine (Keep Holding On), Breaking Benjamin (Forget It and Rain) Basshunters (Boten Anna), Evanescence (My Immortal and Anywhere), Linkin Park (Shadow of the Day), and so forth. Song called Fields of Hope. that's about it...
i have a new found chill out artist. john mayer. i loooooooove john mayer.
i also chill out to slipknot. rotflrotfl... i know that's insane but it's something about heavy metal. i also have been chilling out to disturbed lately...
Whoa never expected to see Dead Meadow listed on here.
That's awesome.
I've seen Jason Simon do acoustic sets a couple times; seems like a chill, humble, down-to-earth guy.
i usually chill out to carie underwood, jordin sparks, kelly clarkson, and alan jackson. there's a bunch more but that's it for now.
I like to chill out to Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, Kerry Underwood, and whatever else I feel like listening to on my computer, radio, or iPod.
